Describe the relationship between obesity and the risk of type 2 diabetes and the benefits of lifestyle modification (IE diet and exercise) in reducing the risk and helping to manage patients with Type 2 diabetes. 2. Describe the current 2012 ADA clinical practice guidelines for the diagnosis and management of diabetes mellitus. 3. Discuss the appropriate use of metformin, sulfonylureas, TZD's, GLP-1 agonists, DPP-4 inhibn deciding upon the compelling inducations for spedific antihypertensive agents in treating selected patients and where JNC-VIII is likely to go. 4. Recommend a specific treatment regimen for a patient with hypertension and concurrent conditions 5. Identify the common drug therapy problems encountered in patients with hypertension and possible solutions.
