Sunday, August 9 - PARIS ARRIVAL

After landing at Paris Airport, complete customs and immigration formalities. Your CIE Tours guide will welcome you to France and escort you and your luggage to the coach. Monday, August 10 - PARIS SIGHTSEEING

This morning, set off on a guided tour around the world's most popular tourist destination. Your guide will provide you with interesting facts and stories about Paris's history and point out much of the scenery that draws so many to France's capital. Travel along Champs-Elysees and stop to visit the Arc de Triomphe, which stands at the western end of the Camps-Elysees. The arch honors those who fought for France, particularly during the Napoleonic Wars and also includes the tomb of the unknown soldier. Continue on to visit the Place de la Concorde, one of the major public squares in Paris, located on the eastern end of the Champs-Elysees. After, return to your nearby hotel, where the rest of the day is free to sightsee, shop and dine on your own.

Tuesday, August 11 - PARIS TO LONDON

Leaving Paris, travel to the nearby train station and enjoy a Eurostar train ride into London. Upon arrival, meet your CIE Tours driver/guide who will welcome you to England and escort you and your luggage to the coach. Next, set off on an orientation tour of London to see some of the city's famous landmarks. View Houses of Parliament, Big Ben and nearby Westminster Abbey. Drive through Trafalgar Square where the National Gallery and St. Martin-in-the-Fields Church is located. Drive a short distance to your hotel, check-in and enjoy the balance of the day at your leisure. In the evening, you may like to dine in one of the many traditional or modern dinner venues, located within the city.

Wednesday, August 12 - DOVER SIGHTSEEING

After breakfast, journey into Whistable for a panoramic tour before heading into Dover for an orientation drive. Stop to visit Dover Castle, England's largest and most historical castle. It was founded in the 12th century and is said to be the "Key to England" because of its significance throughout England's history. Then, continue into Canterbury and set off on a panoramic tour of the charming medieval city, which is England's spiritual center and the seat of the Primate of All England. In the town center, stop to visit Canterbury Cathedral, which is known for where Tomas A. Becket awas murdered. Ads a result of this event, Canterbury became a major center of pilgrimage, inspiring Geoffrey Chaucer to write his Canterbury Tales in 1387. After, return to your hotel in London, where the rest of the day is free for independent activities and dining.

Thursday, August 13 - STONEHENGE

Today, drive into Windsor to and stop to visit Windsor Castle, the official residence of The Queen. Covering thirteen acres, this is the largest inhabited castle in the world. See the Upper and Middle Wards, the Round Tower and the Lower Ward where St. George's Chapel is situated. Then, continue on to visit Stonehenge, a celebrated prehistoric monument that is around 5,000-years-old. At one time, the site might have been an ancient burial ground or place of worship for ancient Druids. After your visit, journey into Southampton and set off on a panoramic tour to see the highlights of the city. Motor a short distance to your hotel, check-in and enjoy some free time to relax or freshen up before joining your group for a farewell dinner in the hotel restaurant.
