OK. So hopefully the sausages we ate today were not over 700 years old, but the sausage house kitchen they were cooked in certainly was.
This sausage kitchen was originally built to feed the hundreds of workers building the Old Stone Bridge that crosses the Danube River in Regensburg, Germany.
It is now known as the oldest continuously operating restaurant in the world. It serves only thin sausages, sauerkraut, rolls and the best brown mustard you have ever tasted! Very simple to order: Sit down... the waitress comes over... tell her what you want to drink... and simply say 6, 8 10 or 12 - (the number of Nuremberg sausages you want). That's it!
